Family Constellations can help!
I’ve done many spiritual retreats all over the U.S. and in other parts of the world (some as long as ten days) looking to have a life changing experience. I must say that John gave me that gift by guiding me through a powerful experience that helped me let go of old beliefs and burning resentments towards some of my family members. He accomplished this within three hours, right here in town! John’s unique, gentle, loving and nurturing process helped me heal old pain from family wounds and limiting judgements accumulated for 50+ years. I just can’t say enough about how amazing this process was for me. He has gifted me with peace by helping me let go of old core beliefs that weren’t serving me in living a joyful life. Amazing! Thank you, John!Angela C.
I feel so blessed and fortunate to have been introduced to this class. I’m feeling great! I am feeling so much forgiveness for my step mother. I no longer feel resentment and hatred towards her. I’ve been working on forgiveness for a very long time and this class gave me the closure that I was looking for.Nikki B.
Private Family Constellations session by phone, computer, or in person. (Sessions last approximately 2 hours)
Family Constellations is a powerful healing tool that reveals the unconscious and often surprising sources of recurring patterns that keep you from the happy life you were meant to live. Developed in the 1980’s by a German psychotherapist named Bert Hellinger, this work is quite well known in Europe and South America, and is just starting to gain attention in the U.S. because of its remarkable effectiveness. It was born out of Hellinger’s diverse life experiences. He grew up in Germany during World War I & II and saw the devastating results of placing principles before people. Later, when he lived with the Zulu in South Africa for 16 years as a Catholic Priest and missionary, Hellinger observed how their tribal customs and rituals created strong ancestral connections that somehow prevented unfortunate family patterns from being repeated. His desire to learn more about these familial connections and patterns grew stronger, so he eventually left the priesthood and returned to Europe to study philosophy and many different forms of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. When he began putting the different pieces together, Hellinger came to understand that every family member has a specific place in the system and needs to be recognized. Much like stargazing at night, in order to spot the Big Dipper, one must recognize each one of the seven stars in that constellation, hence the name Family Constellations.
Sometimes due to extremely painful or shameful circumstances such as the death of a child or parent at a young age, mental illness, suicide, incarceration, or any kind of abuse, a family member shuts down, is excluded, or is forgotten. Unconscious loyalties to these family members make us do things to the detriment of our own well-being. Constellations uncover these hidden loyalties and gives us a new, broader perspective. We see the connection between things we never connected before. Our thoughts and beliefs about a situation are expanded, giving us new understanding. Where there is understanding, compassion follows. When there is compassion, our hearts open, love starts flowing again, and we begin to move forward.
What happens in a Group Session?
At the beginning of the workshop, the names of all of the participants are put into a bowl. Before each constellation, one name is picked. This person will have the opportunity to look at their issue or concern in a constellation. Nothing is mandatory, and you always have the option to pass if you choose. If your name is picked and you feel ready, I will ask you some basic questions about your family history and the area of your life that you would like to improve. After I gather some general information, you will be asked to choose someone in the group to represent you, and then others to represent the different key components in your family system. You will place them in the “Knowing Field,” the area in the center of the room designated through our common intention as the place where any information that will be helpful can be accessed. You will then sit down and watch what unfolds as the representatives start to feel the feelings of the people or aspects they are representing. You don’t have to be psychic to represent in a constellation. We all have the ability to tap in to information from sources other than the five sense. This is exactly what happens in the “Knowing Field.” Participants are often surprised by how much they can feel.
Once an entanglement has been discovered, an excluded one has been revealed, or some other obstacle to the flow of love shows up, I will ask you to take the place of your representative. This way you can have a direct experience of the shift that is happening. Then, as we follow the movement, you will be guided on what to say and do to restore balance and harmony to the system. You will be amazed when you see the bigger picture and how seemingly unrelated things are connected. Not every constellation concludes with a clear resolution, but each one provides a step towards healing and the opportunity for movement where there was none before. When a constellation does arrive at a profound resolution, everyone feels the shift. Hugs and smiles often break out spontaneously as a new healthier pattern is established. The process is truly miraculous.
