With so much discussion of climate change on our planet, political unrest in the world, and divisiveness in the U.S., I felt inspired to share this miracle story from a few years ago. When I say miracle, I’m talking about the kind A Course in Miracles describes as a shift in perception from fear to love. It happened while I was driving back to Ft. Lauderdale from Ft. Meyers after a fun afternoon and dinner with my beautiful friend, Carrie Stiers. The needle on my gas gauge was hovering near E, which meant I needed to get gas before the long haul across the Everglades on Interstate 75. This 80-mile stretch of highway is also known as Alligator Alley for good reason. There’s no shortage of alligators on either side of the road, but not much else. There certainly are no gas stations. As I traveled closer to the entrance ramp, the only buildings I passed were condominiums and townhouses. With no gas stations in sight, I began to get nervous.
Thankfully, I remembered that I am the dreamer of my dream and my thoughts create my reality. Right then and there I decided not only would I find a gas station before getting on I-75, but it would be on my side of the road and not outrageously priced. Just a few minutes later, I passed a gas station on the other side of the road. I was tempted to make a U-turn but decided to stick with my original intention. If nothing else materialized I could always go back. Sure enough, less than a mile before the entrance to I-75, there was a RaceTrac gas station on my side of the street advertising regular gasoline for $2.22 per gallon. Score!
I pulled into the station, placed the nozzle in my fuel tank, and clicked the lock on the trigger so it would shut off automatically when my tank was full. Imagine my surprise when the pump shut off at exactly $22! I pay attention to repeating number sequences like this. I believe it’s one way Spirit uses to get my attention. I did not know the meaning of repeating 2s, so I made a mental note to look it up when I got home. I was amazed when I googled “Angel Numbers” and found out that 222 means, “Trust everything is working out exactly as it’s supposed to, with Divine blessings for everyone involved. Let go and have faith.” That message felt like the perfect confirmation for my decision to let go of my worries around finding a gas station. Not only did one magically appear, but it must have been brand new because the restrooms were sparkling clean. Now that is a miracle!
Given the amount of anxiety and fear in the world today, I believe this 222 message is more important than ever. I invite you to use the power of your thoughts to create the experiences you want and stop giving energy to outcomes you do not want. Once I decided that everything was going to work out fine with my trip home, I was able to calm down and enjoy the ride. Had I stayed in fear, not only would I have missed the beauty of the scenery around me, I probably would have unnecessarily turned around and backtracked for miles to a gas station. Experience has taught me that when I am stuck in fear, I almost always make bad decisions. When I have faith that everything is going to work out, my mind returns to peace where I can receive guidance to make good decisions. I don’t know about you, but I would much prefer to be on the lookout for 222 angels rather than 222 alligators!
