A Da Vinci Coded Message

I had a wonderful time visiting beloved friends near Asheville, NC last week for Thanksgiving. On Tuesday, we took a fun day trip to the Biltmore Estate to see an exhibit called “Leonardo Da Vinci – 500 Years of Genius.” What an experience!

The exhibit was comprised of two parts. The first was a large room filled with replicas of some of Da Vinci’s most famous paintings and life-sized models of some of the inventions he illustrated in his notebooks. After seeing so many visionary ideas on display in one place, it amazed me to learn that Da Vinci’s genius was not recognized during his lifetime. What a great reminder not to measure success or creativity based on the opinions of others!

The other part of the exhibit was a 32-minute immersive theatrical presentation. Guests walked into a large room as images of Da Vinci’s work danced across the walls and floor in every direction. Sweeping orchestral and chorale music accompanied the images while some of Da Vinci’s most famous quotes appeared on certain screens. It truly felt like we were transported inside his imagination. The experience was so captivating, we stayed and watched it a second time.

My favorite part was when a choir of angelic voices began singing as images of Da Vinci’s angel paintings floated around the room. The quote that appeared on the screen said, “I wish to work miracles.” The combination of this quote with ethereal images and music sent tingles through my body. It was one of those holy moments when my heart overflowed with gratitude to be exactly where I was with people I love. For those who live near or will be traveling to Asheville, I highly recommend this exhibit!

Having just celebrated Thanksgiving last week here in the United States, my wish for you is to experience many moments that fill your heart with gratitude for being right where you are. If you’d like some assistance in feeling more joy, gratitude, and contentment in your life, let’s work miracles together! Look around my website for information on Spiritual Coaching, Family Constellations, or my weekly online A Course in Miracles study group. While there, you can also book a session or purchase a gift certificate for someone you love.

Until next time, may angels and miracles surround you each and every day this holiday season…

Gratitude goes hand in hand with love, and where one is the other must be found.

Miracles & Magical Connections

We talked a lot about Archangel Uriel and his brilliant golden light during the angel event. It felt like him showing off when I snapped this photo at sunset the night I returned.

As I mentioned last week, I am so grateful to my friend Radleigh Valentine for asking me to come help with his Certified Angelic Advisor Course in Tampa. In addition to some overdue time with Radleigh, I feel like I made some new lifelong friends. Not surprisingly, the team members and students that gathered for the event were kind, heart-centered, and fun-loving just like Radleigh. It was a joy to be with them for 5 days.

Since I drove up on the day the event started, everyone else on the team had arrived by the time I got there. I decided to check in and drop off my suitcase in my room before texting them. I rode the elevator up from the parking garage to the lobby, and when the doors opened with a “ding,” there was Radleigh standing right in front of me. It surprised us both and we burst into laughter before giving each other a hug. What a magical way to reconnect after not seeing each other for 3 years! And everything aligned magically like that for the rest of the event.

In the first session, Radleigh guided a beautiful meditation to create a sacred container where all the week’s activities would take place. He called in the support of Archangel Michael to place a seal of protection around us and Archangel Raphael to infuse the room with love and healing light. Every time Radleigh said the phrase “guardian angels” I felt tingles move through my body like bubbles rising to the top of a swimming pool after jumping in. The presence of love and protection was palpable. In case we needed a physical reminder, Radleigh pointed out that the oval-shaped conference room had lighting fixtures that cast light in the shape of angel wings all around us. It could not have been a more perfect room for the event.

Radleigh guided several powerful and creative angel meditations throughout the week. He surprised himself with some of them because they contained images and intentions he had not facilitated before. There were lots of miracles, “aha” moments, laughs, and some tears as the class learned how to open up to love, guidance, and support from the Divine in a variety of ways. During one archangel meditation, I received a hopeful message that connected some dots that I had not connected before. Each day we went a little deeper and opened our hearts even wider to receive. Something truly magical was happening with the alchemy of this group.

I was also deeply grateful for the opportunity to introduce Family Constellations to the group in a special bonus presentation on Friday evening. Since this group already had their hearts and minds wide open to receive support from angels, it was not a stretch to consider receiving support from their ancestors as well. I guided the Ancestor Meditation I share before all of my workshops. I also set up a basic constellation to give them a small sample of the healing power of the work. Everything flowed from one moment to the next, and I couldn’t be happier with how well it was received. A big thank you to everyone in attendance who stood in for the ancestors and to those who shared their stories and experiences with such vulnerability.

The conference ended with another synchronistic event just like it began. As many of you know, I read a section of A Course in Miracles every morning to start my day. Before I drove home the day after the event, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read this quote:

Around you angels hover lovingly, to keep away all darkened thoughts of sin, and keep the light where it has entered in. Your footprints lighten up the world, for where you walk forgiveness gladly goes with you.

A Course in Miracles ~ T-26.IX.7:1-2

The Course uses the word “angels” just 11 times in its 1300 pages, so it felt like a wink from Spirit that it was in the section I read after spending 5 days talking about them! What a perfect message to sum up the event. I returned home with new insights, new ways to communicate with Spirit, and a full heart. In my mind’s eye, I see the illuminated footprints of everyone who was blessed by that event lighting up the world as they share messages of peace and love.

It would be my great honor to help you experience peace and love more often, no matter what is happening in your life. Consider giving yourself the gift of a Private Family Constellations Session or a series of Spiritual Coaching Sessions.. You can find more information, book a session, or purchase a gift certificate for all of my services on my website.

There is another online Family Constellation workshop happening after Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 30. Visit the Upcoming Workshops page on my website for more information and to purchase a ticket.

Finally, if the subject of angels, archangels, angel numbers, or tarot cards interests you, I highly recommend checking out Radleigh Valentine’s website. From card decks to classes, Radleigh infuses peace, love, joy, and authenticity into everything he creates.

Until next time, may you feel the support of your angels and ancestors cheering you on to a happy, healthy, prosperous life.

The “Real” World

My sister, an old pal, and me at EPCOT

“It’s back to the real world tomorrow.” Have you ever said these words on the last day of a wonderful vacation or at the end of a fantastic event? I find it interesting (and a little sad) that somehow we’ve gotten the message that feeling rested and being in a state of peace and joy is not the “real” world. I would argue what most people consider “real” is actually the illusion of separation. Conflict, competition, and stress might be common, but I don’t believe they are our natural state. A Course in Miracles teaches that our natural state is one of peace, love, and oneness. When we act otherwise, we simply have forgotten the truth.

Fun and Laughter with my pal, Radleigh Valentine

Last week, I had the gift of being in a bubble of peace and love in Tampa, Florida. My friend, Radleigh Valentine, invited me to help out with his Certified Angelic Advisors event, and what a joy it was to share the experience with a group of heart-centered people from around the globe. (I’ll share more about that next week.) I was home just one day and then drove back to Tampa to pick up my sister from the airport. Hurricane Ian postponed our sibling getaway to Disney World last month, so we rescheduled it for this week.

Costume Ball at the event on Saturday

I’m still in the real world (aka Disney World) creating magical memories with my sister, returning home to the illusion this weekend. That being said, I’ll keep it brief this week and trust you will enjoy a few photos from the real world while you ponder which world is real and which is not. Perhaps on the last day of your next vacation you will say, “Back to the illusion tomorrow!”

Two Siblings looking forward to floating in the Lazy River at Typhoon Lagoon

If you would like assistance in experiencing more peace, love, and joy in your life, it would be my great honor to spend some time in the real world with you. Visit my website to learn more about Spiritual Coaching packages and private Family Constellations sessions. There are also two online Family Constellations workshops happening later this month. Tickets are available now on my website. As the holiday season approaches, consider giving yourself or a loved one the gift of healing. Gift certificates are available for all of my services.

Until next time, may you find yourself in the real world more often feeling loved, peaceful, and happy.

When you perceive yourself without deceit, you will accept the real world in place of the false one you have made.

A Dream of Forgiveness

Have you ever had one of those dreams that is undeniably your unconscious mind working out some stuff while you sleep? I had one of those last weekend. In the dream, my mom was still alive and she was quite inebriated. If you know my story, you know this would not be unusual for my mother. However, I seemed to be reliving the moment when I discovered she had fallen off the wagon after a long stretch of sobriety shortly after moving to Florida. Both then and in the dream, I was devastated. In the dream, I could feel my frustration and anger building as I shared the upsetting news with my brother.

As happens in dreams, time was not linear. Suddenly, I was watching various moments throughout the last years of my mother’s life. Specifically, times when I lost my patience and said or did things that were not kind were on display. Reliving these events all at once caused an overwhelming wave of guilt and remorse to wash over me. In the dream, I began to sob profusely. My pillow wasn’t soaked when I woke up, but it would not have surprised me if it had been. Those emotions felt very real.

My mother has been gone for almost 11 years now. I’ve done a lot of inner work since then, but I know that dream helped me release yet another layer of sadness and guilt that had been lurking in my unconscious mind. There are always more layers of that onion to peel. I’m grateful to A Course in Miracles and Family Constellations for helping me understand that I did the best I could with what I knew back then. If I want to experience more peace, love, and joy in my life, I need to let go of the guilt and forgive myself for the past, knowing I would do things differently today.

Is there something you are having a hard time forgiving yourself for? Maybe it’s too painful to process in your waking hours. It might be helpful to ask your higher self, guardian angels, or loved ones in Spirit to watch over you at night and help you release anything that no longer serves while you sleep. When you’re ready to try it during waking hours, please reach out for assistance. I would be honored to walk with you on your healing journey with a series of Spiritual Coaching Sessions or a Private Family Constellations Session. Both are excellent ways to give the forgiveness process a boost. Look around my website for more information and to book a session

May a host of heavenly angels lift any heavy thoughts up to the clouds tonight while you sleep peacefully.

All your time is spent in dreaming. Your sleeping and your waking dreams have different forms, and that is all.

When Angels Nudge You to Phone a Friend

Last month, while scrolling through my Instagram feed on a Wednesday afternoon, I discovered that my friend Radleigh Valentine was going to be a guest on Unity Online Radio. In fact, his appearance on Diane Ray’s show, “Be Present” was happening in less than an hour! That gave me just enough time to run a few errands and be back home in time to listen live.

Radleigh and I met at a Hay House conference in Orlando in 2015 and soon became fast friends. We hadn’t spoken for a while, so I thought it might be fun to surprise him by calling into the show to ask a question. I immediately started to second guess that idea. Would it be weird for me to call in since we’re friends? I should give other people the opportunity to ask their questions. Plus, I had met Diane Ray once at Unity Village when I was there for a conference. I didn’t want her to think I was some creepy stalker.

Basically, the voice of fear, (the ego) talked me out of calling. I decided to just listen and enjoy the show. Radleigh spoke a little about his recent move and how excited he was to release his new card deck, “Guardian Angel Messages Tarot.” He and Diane talked a little more about the new deck and guardian angels, and then she opened up the phone lines for callers to ask questions.

The first two callers asked about very challenging life situations. Radleigh spoke with them and answered their questions as he always does, with an abundance of compassion and insight. He pulled cards for them to offer additional guidance from their guardian angels. As he was talking with the second caller, I got another nudge to call in. Perhaps surprising them would end the show on a lighter note. Once again, the voice of fear immediately chimed in, telling me that it wasn’t appropriate.

That’s when I looked at the upper right-hand corner of my computer screen to see how much time was left in the show. I had to laugh when I saw it was 4:44 PM. In Radleigh’s work, 444 is the “angel number.” If you see this number sequence on a license plate, billboard, taxicab, or cell phone, it’s a wink from the angels reminding you of their presence. That felt like a clear sign they wanted me to call into the show. So I did.

Apparently, it was meant to be because I got through on my first try. When the producer answered, I gave him my name and he put me on hold. A few moments later, I heard Diane tell Radleigh even though there wasn’t much time left, she thought they should take one more call. My area code must have given me away because she knew who I was! They joked a little bit about my days as a prince at Disney World before I asked Radleigh if he would pull some cards for me. I asked if my guardian angels had anything to say about my recent move back to Florida.

The cards he pulled were ridiculously spot on. The very first one was the “Renewal” card, which is all about reflection, self-evaluation, and rebirth. I won’t go into detail on each of the four cards he pulled. If you’re curious, you can listen to the show by clicking this link. My call was during the last ten minutes. The overall message was about falling in love with my life again. The way Radleigh described the meaning of each card and how they fit together obviously struck a chord because my eyes well up with tears. I’m so grateful to the angels for giving me that 444 nudge to overcome my fear so I wouldn’t miss this powerful message of confirmation.

Are you having a difficult time ignoring the voice of fear? It would be my great honor to assist you with a series of Spiritual Coaching Sessions or a private Family Constellations Session. Both can help you see things from a broader perspective so you can release old patterns and fear. For more information, please look around my website or send me an email to schedule a session.

This week, may you be open to nudges and messages that lead you to an abundance of miracles and blessings.

Angels light the way, so that all darkness vanishes, and you are standing in a light so bright and clear that you can understand all things you see.

Sweet Tea Angel

Most of us grew up hearing the phrase “it’s better to give than receive,” or some version of that, but is it true? Some people have taken this phrase to mean it is selfish to receive, so they focus on giving. They have a very hard time receiving a compliment, let alone a gift. Even from a logical perspective, this doesn’t work. If everyone is giving, but no one is receiving, nothing can happen! Just like breathing, for it to work, we have to complete the cycle. Inhale and exhale. Give and receive. Both have equal value.

On the final leg of my journey back to Houston last month, I had the opportunity to practice the art of receiving. I stopped at a McAlister’s Deli somewhere in Louisiana for their delicious veggie sandwich. I needed to stretch my legs, so I went inside to order the sandwich and a side of mac n cheese to go. The restaurant must have recently reopened because there were very few people inside eating and very few people working behind the counter. It took a while for them to make my sandwich, but I was not on any time schedule so I didn’t mind.

A kind, elderly woman who worked there noticed me and asked if I’d like to have an iced tea while I waited. Initially I declined, knowing I already had an iced tea in my car. No sooner had I said “no thank you” when suddenly I felt that I had made the wrong decision. Why would I block an act of kindness, especially when I know how delicious their sweet tea is! (For the record, I don’t drink it often so I’m better off not knowing how much sugar is in it!)

I immediately said to the nice woman that I changed my mind and I would love a sweet tea. Her whole face lit up as she happily trotted behind the counter to scoop some ice and pour me a cup from the brewing machine. As she handed it to me she smiled and said in her sweet southern accent, “Ya know. Our tea is so good I thought maybe you were an alien when you said no thank you.” And then with a gleam in her eye she added, “Or you come from north of the Mason Dixon line.”

Although I am a full-blooded Yankee who just visited his hometown in upstate New York, I played along and said, “Isn’t that the same thing?” She giggled and replied, “I wasn’t gonna say that, but I’m glad you did.” Luckily she didn’t ask me where I was from before my sandwich was ready. When she handed me the bag, I noticed her name tag said, “Mrs. Angela.” Before leaving, I thanked her again for the tea. She told me to “come on back anytime I was in the neighborhood.” I told her that I definitely would and that she certainly lived up to the word “angel” on her name tag. She blushed and waved goodbye as I headed out the door.

As I sat in my car eating my sandwich and drinking my tea, a wave of gratitude washed over me, not just for the tea, but for the lovely connection with that sweet tea angel. Seeing how happy she was pouring that tea and sharing a giggle lifted my energy for the long drive still ahead. I’m so glad I didn’t miss that joyful moment by denying her the opportunity to be kind. I truly believe it was a gift for us both. I also believe that’s why Lesson 108 in A Course in Miracles says:

To give and to receive are one in truth.

I will receive what I am giving now.

Are you the person that never lets anyone else pick up the check at a restaurant? Maybe you constantly buy gifts for others, but never buy anything for yourself or refuse to let others buy gifts for you. Perhaps you feel guilty because your financial situation makes you the person who rarely picks up the check or gives a gift. It would be my great honor to help you balance the flow of giving and receiving with a series of Life Coaching Sessions or a private Family Constellations Session. Both can uncover unconscious blocks that prevent you from living the happy, healthy, prosperous, and balanced life you were meant to live. All sessions can be done from the comfort of your own home using a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Please look around my website or send me an email for more information and to schedule a session.

Until next time, may you experience the abundant joy of both giving and receiving.

222 Angels or Alligators?

With so much discussion of climate change on our planet, political unrest in the world, and divisiveness in the U.S., I felt inspired to share this miracle story from a few years ago. When I say miracle, I’m talking about the kind A Course in Miracles describes as a shift in perception from fear to love. It happened while I was driving back to Ft. Lauderdale from Ft. Meyers after a fun afternoon and dinner with my beautiful friend, Carrie Stiers. The needle on my gas gauge was hovering near E, which meant I needed to get gas before the long haul across the Everglades on Interstate 75. This 80-mile stretch of highway is also known as Alligator Alley for good reason. There’s no shortage of alligators on either side of the road, but not much else. There certainly are no gas stations. As I traveled closer to the entrance ramp, the only buildings I passed were condominiums and townhouses. With no gas stations in sight, I began to get nervous.

Thankfully, I remembered that I am the dreamer of my dream and my thoughts create my reality. Right then and there I decided not only would I find a gas station before getting on I-75, but it would be on my side of the road and not outrageously priced. Just a few minutes later, I passed a gas station on the other side of the road. I was tempted to make a U-turn but decided to stick with my original intention. If nothing else materialized I could always go back. Sure enough, less than a mile before the entrance to I-75, there was a RaceTrac gas station on my side of the street advertising regular gasoline for $2.22 per gallon. Score!

I pulled into the station, placed the nozzle in my fuel tank, and clicked the lock on the trigger so it would shut off automatically when my tank was full. Imagine my surprise when the pump shut off at exactly $22! I pay attention to repeating number sequences like this. I believe it’s one way Spirit uses to get my attention. I did not know the meaning of repeating 2s, so I made a mental note to look it up when I got home. I was amazed when I googled “Angel Numbers” and found out that 222 means, “Trust everything is working out exactly as it’s supposed to, with Divine blessings for everyone involved. Let go and have faith.” That message felt like the perfect confirmation for my decision to let go of my worries around finding a gas station. Not only did one magically appear, but it must have been brand new because the restrooms were sparkling clean. Now that is a miracle!

Given the amount of anxiety and fear in the world today, I believe this 222 message is more important than ever. I invite you to use the power of your thoughts to create the experiences you want and stop giving energy to outcomes you do not want. Once I decided that everything was going to work out fine with my trip home, I was able to calm down and enjoy the ride. Had I stayed in fear, not only would I have missed the beauty of the scenery around me, I probably would have unnecessarily turned around and backtracked for miles to a gas station. Experience has taught me that when I am stuck in fear, I almost always make bad decisions. When I have faith that everything is going to work out, my mind returns to peace where I can receive guidance to make good decisions. I don’t know about you, but I would much prefer to be on the lookout for 222 angels rather than 222 alligators!

If you could use some assistance shifting from fear to love, the principles found in A Course in Miracles will help you tremendously. I offer four, eight, and twelve-week Life Coaching programs based on these teachings. I love sharing these practical, powerful tools with my clients. Visit my website for more information about Life Coaching and Family Constellations, which is another great tool to help you shift from fear to love.

Until next time, no matter what appears to be happening in the world:

Trust that everything is working out exactly as it’s supposed to, with Divine blessings for everyone involved. Let go and have faith.

Angels, Auras, and Ice Cream

Last weekend I was in Austin, Texas attending an event called “Angels & Auras” facilitated by two of my favorite Hay House authors, Radleigh Valentine and Dougall Fraser. What a dynamic duo! It was so interesting to see how many places Radleigh’s teachings on angels aligned with Dougall’s work with color. All through the event, they bounced ideas and jokes back and forth like they were playing a friendly game of badminton. When one of them led a meditation or a process, the other would silently hold space until it was complete. It was inspiring to watch these two friends speak from their hearts without any sense of competition or need to be right.

I loved when Radleigh invited us to let go of the concept of “right” and “wrong” during his answer to the very first question. A woman asked him how the various colors became associated with each archangel. He began with a very simple answer. Those colors were taught to him by his teacher and he liked them. He then told a story about sharing the stage with Diana Cooper, whom he described as the “Grande Dame of Angels” in Europe. Diana has been writing and teaching about angels for a long time. Not only does she associate different colors with the archangels, but she also talks about each one of them having a twin flame. Despite these basic differences, Radleigh pointed out that there was no need to make one right and one wrong. We each get to choose what feels right for us. If you feel connected to what he teaches, use that system. If you resonate more with Diana’s teachings, use those. Whichever system you use, the important thing is to remember to ask for angelic help.

In his book, Your Life in Color, Dougall uses an approach to color that veers away from the traditional seven chakra rainbow colors. That doesn’t mean one is wrong. It simply means color speaks to Dougall differently. If his approach resonates with you and you find it helpful, why not use it? There are over 7 billion people on this planet, each one looking for ways to experience more peace, love, and joy. Since each one of us is different, we need lots of different ways.

That’s why Baskin & Robbins has 31 flavors. Imagine visiting an ice cream parlor that only serves vanilla. That might be okay for some, but that wouldn’t work for everyone. Thank goodness for those little sample spoons that allow us to taste a variety of flavors before choosing one. I think spiritual practices are like that. The only way to know what works for you is to try some. At some point, you pick one you like and savor a whole scoop (or two!) My favorite flavor of spirituality is A Course in Miracles. Its gentle, consistent, authoritative, yet completely loving voice has given me more comfort than any other teaching.

On Saturday, a miraculous thing happened. Radleigh opened the “Angels and Auras” event by leading a guided meditation inviting 4 powerful archangels to stand in each of the 4 corners of the room. As he invoked the names and qualities of each one, I felt those familiar tingles all through my body. I have learned that those tingles happen when Spirit is trying to get my attention to let me know the energy of unconditional love is present. The tingles usually only last a few seconds, but that night they continued for the entire 15-minute meditation. It felt amazing! In fact, I’m getting those tingles again as I type these words. Thank you, Radleigh. Thank you, angels!

Earlier that morning, I completed another pass through the 365 Workbook Lessons in A Course in Miracles. I’m not sure how many times I’ve done the lessons since I started studying the Course, but each time I see something new. This time was no different, and the timing was perfect. The following morning I read the beautiful epilogue that closes the Workbook. Imagine the smile on my face when I read these last 3 sentences:

You do not walk alone. God’s angels hover near and all about. His Love surrounds you, and of this be sure; that I will never leave you comfortless.

I know these words are true for you too. If you are having trouble connecting with your angels or feeling the presence of unconditional love, I highly recommend the work of Radleigh Valentine and Dougall Fraser. Click their names to visit their websites where you can listen to free guided meditations and purchase their books and card decks. If you would like some one-on-one assistance, I would be honored to share with you some of the tools and techniques that have worked for me. I offer 4, 8, and 12-week Life Coaching Packages to suit your needs and budget. In our weekly 60-minute sessions, we will uncover what is preventing you from experiencing miracles! Sessions can be done in person, by phone, or via Skype and Zoom from anywhere in the world. Give yourself the gift of clear vision and a fresh start in 2020. Gift Certificates are available for all of my services. To show my gratitude to all of you who read my weekly stories, this year I’m jumping on the bandwagon and offering some major discounts on my Life Coaching packages for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Watch for that later this week. For more information or to book a session, please look around  my website or send me an email.

Until next time, keep sampling those flavors until you find the perfect one for you!

Mother’s Day Memories

This week, in honor of Mother’s Day, I thought I would share a story I wrote a few years ago that contains some of my favorite moments with my mom both before and after she made her transition. Enjoy!

Last Sunday, I visited Butterfly World in Coconut Creek, FL with some friends from church. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend it. It’s like being in another realm. Gentle notes of classical music waft through the air and dance with butterflies of every size and color. These graceful creatures flutter freely in a giant screened-in enclosure among trickling waterfalls, lush vegetation, and beautiful orchids. This place inspires a deep sense of peace and wonder.

I had been there only once before with my mom on Mother’s Day a few years before she died. It was a peaceful, joyful day, and one of my favorite memories of the last years of her life. Of course, this visit I was thinking and talking a lot about her with my friends. As we walked around the sanctuary, I commented that the large white butterflies floating around reminded me of angels. After we left, one of my friends sent me a photo she had taken earlier. In the photo one of those white butterflies was directly over my head. She said, “Look! It’s your mom watching over you!” I was already feeling nostalgic, and that got me right in the heart.

After Butterfly World, I started to feel a headache coming on. It got progressively worse, forcing me to lie down with a heated bean bag on my tense neck muscles and a cold compress with lavender oil on my forehead. It helped a little bit, but not enough to attend a small gathering at a friend’s apartment as I had planned. I finally acquiesced and took some ibuprofen. When that didn’t work, I asked Spirit for guidance on what would help me feel better. The answer I received surprised me. “Go walk on the beach and breathe some salt air.” It was after 10 o’clock, but I felt like that would help, so I jumped in my car and off to the beach I went.

Just fifteen minutes later I was by the healing waters of Mother Ocean. It was a beautiful, breezy, moonlit night. As I walked along the shoreline, the soft wind and rolling waves seemed to wash away my headache. As I continued, I noticed a plethora of staked off areas on the beach where sea turtles had laid their eggs. That’s when I remembered that one of my mom’s final wishes was to see sea turtles hatch at night. To honor this request, on her last Mother’s Day on Earth, my brother and I took her to see the Disney Nature film Oceans. I had seen it before and knew it contained a scene with sea turtles hatching and scampering to the sea. She loved it!  Another beautiful Mother’s Day memory.

It was at this point on my walk that I started wondering if my mother was up to something. I’m not usually at the beach at that time of night. Was that horrible headache her way of getting me to the beach to see real hatchlings? I ended up walking for over an hour, all the while looking for signs of tiny turtles emerging from their nests. I sent my friend who took the photo a text message telling her about the synchronicity of my two Mother’s Day memories. Were they connected? How cool would it be if that’s why I was at the beach that night?

My friend told me about a time years ago when she saw a mother turtle laying eggs in the sand late at night. That sounded pretty cool too! I kept walking and looking, but the only thing spectacular I saw was lightning in the distance. My mother loved thunderstorms. When I was a kid, we watched them together from our garage as they swept through our neighborhood. The approaching storm felt like another message from her, or at least a message that it was time to go home. Even if I didn’t see any turtles, my heart was full of memories of her, and I definitely felt her presence. That was enough.

I had just started walking back when I noticed strange looking tire tracks heading into the ocean. That seemed odd. The waves should have washed away any marks from lifeguard vehicles or kids playing in the sand by now. Then it dawned on me. Those tracks weren’t heading into the ocean, they were heading out! I followed the trail up the beach and there she was. A mama turtle was just finishing up her work for the night. I stood there in awe and gratitude as I watched her cover up her nest before dragging her body back into the sea. I tried to snap a picture before she vanished into the waves, but it was too dark and I didn’t want to scare her with my flash. That’s okay. I will never forget her. I see now it had to be a mama turtle so I could feel that nurturing energy. She did her job and then it was time for her to move on, just like my mom. It sure felt like a message from my mother letting me know she is still watching over me, guiding me, and reminding me that the love we shared will never die.

If you enjoy these stories, please feel free to share them with friends via email or social media. It brings me great joy to share them with you, just like it brings me joy to share what I’ve learned from life, A Course in Miracles, and Family Constellations in private sessions and workshops. If you’re ready for some miracles of your own, please look around my website for more information about upcoming events, Life Coaching, and one-on-one Family Constellations sessions. It would be my great honor to support you on your journey of healing and wholeness.

To all of you moms and those who play the role of mother in a wide variety of ways…
Happy Mother’s Day!

Blessings!

I learned a long time ago that we all have the power to bless. That word may have special meaning or be off-putting to some, but according to the internet, bless can simply mean “express or feel gratitude to; thank.” That’s why I take time to bless every meal before I eat it. Yes, I’m that weird guy who closes his eyes and holds his hands over his rice bowl at Chipotle for about ten seconds before my first bite. This has become a habit no matter where I am. It’s not a religious thing. It’s simply a way to show respect and gratitude for what’s before me. Having an attitude of gratitude is a sure way to attract more good into my life. It also gives me a moment to set the intention that this food will nourish me and keep me healthy before I wolf it down! I’m working on slowing down and being more mindful while I eat.

With the extensive traveling I’ve done over the past few years, I’ve been on more than a few airplanes. It’s become another habit to place my hand on the side of the aircraft before I step in to silently bless the plane and all those traveling and working inside it. I imagine light and protection around the plane and all of its passengers and crew, as well as all those who have ever been on that plane in the past and all those who will be on it in the future. I also imagine that there are angels assigned to each wing to carry us safely to our destination. It feels especially significant to place my hand on the heart logo painted on Southwest airplanes. Does it do anything? I don’t know, but it’s fun! It also makes me smile to know I am using the power of my heart and mind to think positive thoughts and bless people whom I will never meet. What would happen if everyone reading this started secretly blessing airplanes? Will it make a difference? Like everything, if you believe it to be true then it will be true for you!

I love that this year the staff, musicians, and speakers of the Big Sky Retreat gathered in front of the stage before the retreat began to bless the main room, our attendees and everything that would occur over the next five days. It felt very empowering to speak words of gratitude in advance for the healings, transformations, love, and joy that would happen there. I trust on some level everyone felt it. It sure felt good to me and once again we heard that it was the best Big Sky Retreat yet!

If any of these practices speak to you, I encourage you to adopt them or adapt them to fit your own belief system. Take a moment to bless your food or your airplane. Bless your car for getting you safely from Point A to Point B. Bless your new home before you move in. Bless your old home after you move out. Thank it for providing shelter and a safe space for all those happy memories. Bless whatever you feel inspired to bless. Will it make a difference? If you believe it will…it will!

It would be a blessing for me to assist you in experiencing more miracles and an attitude of gratitude no matter what is going on in your life. Please visit my website or send me an email to learn more about Life Coaching and Family Constellations. Both have been blessings in my life and I trust they will be in yours too.

Until next time, keep those blessings flowing…
