Miracles & Magical Connections

We talked a lot about Archangel Uriel and his brilliant golden light during the angel event. It felt like him showing off when I snapped this photo at sunset the night I returned.

As I mentioned last week, I am so grateful to my friend Radleigh Valentine for asking me to come help with his Certified Angelic Advisor Course in Tampa. In addition to some overdue time with Radleigh, I feel like I made some new lifelong friends. Not surprisingly, the team members and students that gathered for the event were kind, heart-centered, and fun-loving just like Radleigh. It was a joy to be with them for 5 days.

Since I drove up on the day the event started, everyone else on the team had arrived by the time I got there. I decided to check in and drop off my suitcase in my room before texting them. I rode the elevator up from the parking garage to the lobby, and when the doors opened with a “ding,” there was Radleigh standing right in front of me. It surprised us both and we burst into laughter before giving each other a hug. What a magical way to reconnect after not seeing each other for 3 years! And everything aligned magically like that for the rest of the event.

In the first session, Radleigh guided a beautiful meditation to create a sacred container where all the week’s activities would take place. He called in the support of Archangel Michael to place a seal of protection around us and Archangel Raphael to infuse the room with love and healing light. Every time Radleigh said the phrase “guardian angels” I felt tingles move through my body like bubbles rising to the top of a swimming pool after jumping in. The presence of love and protection was palpable. In case we needed a physical reminder, Radleigh pointed out that the oval-shaped conference room had lighting fixtures that cast light in the shape of angel wings all around us. It could not have been a more perfect room for the event.

Radleigh guided several powerful and creative angel meditations throughout the week. He surprised himself with some of them because they contained images and intentions he had not facilitated before. There were lots of miracles, “aha” moments, laughs, and some tears as the class learned how to open up to love, guidance, and support from the Divine in a variety of ways. During one archangel meditation, I received a hopeful message that connected some dots that I had not connected before. Each day we went a little deeper and opened our hearts even wider to receive. Something truly magical was happening with the alchemy of this group.

I was also deeply grateful for the opportunity to introduce Family Constellations to the group in a special bonus presentation on Friday evening. Since this group already had their hearts and minds wide open to receive support from angels, it was not a stretch to consider receiving support from their ancestors as well. I guided the Ancestor Meditation I share before all of my workshops. I also set up a basic constellation to give them a small sample of the healing power of the work. Everything flowed from one moment to the next, and I couldn’t be happier with how well it was received. A big thank you to everyone in attendance who stood in for the ancestors and to those who shared their stories and experiences with such vulnerability.

The conference ended with another synchronistic event just like it began. As many of you know, I read a section of A Course in Miracles every morning to start my day. Before I drove home the day after the event, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read this quote:

Around you angels hover lovingly, to keep away all darkened thoughts of sin, and keep the light where it has entered in. Your footprints lighten up the world, for where you walk forgiveness gladly goes with you.

A Course in Miracles ~ T-26.IX.7:1-2

The Course uses the word “angels” just 11 times in its 1300 pages, so it felt like a wink from Spirit that it was in the section I read after spending 5 days talking about them! What a perfect message to sum up the event. I returned home with new insights, new ways to communicate with Spirit, and a full heart. In my mind’s eye, I see the illuminated footprints of everyone who was blessed by that event lighting up the world as they share messages of peace and love.

It would be my great honor to help you experience peace and love more often, no matter what is happening in your life. Consider giving yourself the gift of a Private Family Constellations Session or a series of Spiritual Coaching Sessions.. You can find more information, book a session, or purchase a gift certificate for all of my services on my website.

There is another online Family Constellation workshop happening after Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 30. Visit the Upcoming Workshops page on my website for more information and to purchase a ticket.

Finally, if the subject of angels, archangels, angel numbers, or tarot cards interests you, I highly recommend checking out Radleigh Valentine’s website. From card decks to classes, Radleigh infuses peace, love, joy, and authenticity into everything he creates.

Until next time, may you feel the support of your angels and ancestors cheering you on to a happy, healthy, prosperous life.

The “Real” World

My sister, an old pal, and me at EPCOT

“It’s back to the real world tomorrow.” Have you ever said these words on the last day of a wonderful vacation or at the end of a fantastic event? I find it interesting (and a little sad) that somehow we’ve gotten the message that feeling rested and being in a state of peace and joy is not the “real” world. I would argue what most people consider “real” is actually the illusion of separation. Conflict, competition, and stress might be common, but I don’t believe they are our natural state. A Course in Miracles teaches that our natural state is one of peace, love, and oneness. When we act otherwise, we simply have forgotten the truth.

Fun and Laughter with my pal, Radleigh Valentine

Last week, I had the gift of being in a bubble of peace and love in Tampa, Florida. My friend, Radleigh Valentine, invited me to help out with his Certified Angelic Advisors event, and what a joy it was to share the experience with a group of heart-centered people from around the globe. (I’ll share more about that next week.) I was home just one day and then drove back to Tampa to pick up my sister from the airport. Hurricane Ian postponed our sibling getaway to Disney World last month, so we rescheduled it for this week.

I’m still in the real world (aka Disney World) creating magical memories with my sister, returning home to the illusion this weekend. That being said, I’ll keep it brief this week and trust you will enjoy a few photos from the real world while you ponder which world is real and which is not. Perhaps on the last day of your next vacation you will say, “Back to the illusion tomorrow!”

If you would like assistance in experiencing more peace, love, and joy in your life, it would be my great honor to spend some time in the real world with you. Visit my website to learn more about Spiritual Coaching packages and private Family Constellations sessions. There are also two online Family Constellations workshops happening later this month. Tickets are available now on my website. As the holiday season approaches, consider giving yourself or a loved one the gift of healing. Gift certificates are available for all of my services.

Until next time, may you find yourself in the real world more often feeling loved, peaceful, and happy.

When you perceive yourself without deceit, you will accept the real world in place of the false one you have made.

When Angels Nudge You to Phone a Friend

Last month, while scrolling through my Instagram feed on a Wednesday afternoon, I discovered that my friend Radleigh Valentine was going to be a guest on Unity Online Radio. In fact, his appearance on Diane Ray’s show, “Be Present” was happening in less than an hour! That gave me just enough time to run a few errands and be back home in time to listen live.

Radleigh and I met at a Hay House conference in Orlando in 2015 and soon became fast friends. We hadn’t spoken for a while, so I thought it might be fun to surprise him by calling into the show to ask a question. I immediately started to second guess that idea. Would it be weird for me to call in since we’re friends? I should give other people the opportunity to ask their questions. Plus, I had met Diane Ray once at Unity Village when I was there for a conference. I didn’t want her to think I was some creepy stalker.

Basically, the voice of fear, (the ego) talked me out of calling. I decided to just listen and enjoy the show. Radleigh spoke a little about his recent move and how excited he was to release his new card deck, “Guardian Angel Messages Tarot.” He and Diane talked a little more about the new deck and guardian angels, and then she opened up the phone lines for callers to ask questions.

The first two callers asked about very challenging life situations. Radleigh spoke with them and answered their questions as he always does, with an abundance of compassion and insight. He pulled cards for them to offer additional guidance from their guardian angels. As he was talking with the second caller, I got another nudge to call in. Perhaps surprising them would end the show on a lighter note. Once again, the voice of fear immediately chimed in, telling me that it wasn’t appropriate.

That’s when I looked at the upper right-hand corner of my computer screen to see how much time was left in the show. I had to laugh when I saw it was 4:44 PM. In Radleigh’s work, 444 is the “angel number.” If you see this number sequence on a license plate, billboard, taxicab, or cell phone, it’s a wink from the angels reminding you of their presence. That felt like a clear sign they wanted me to call into the show. So I did.

Apparently, it was meant to be because I got through on my first try. When the producer answered, I gave him my name and he put me on hold. A few moments later, I heard Diane tell Radleigh even though there wasn’t much time left, she thought they should take one more call. My area code must have given me away because she knew who I was! They joked a little bit about my days as a prince at Disney World before I asked Radleigh if he would pull some cards for me. I asked if my guardian angels had anything to say about my recent move back to Florida.

The cards he pulled were ridiculously spot on. The very first one was the “Renewal” card, which is all about reflection, self-evaluation, and rebirth. I won’t go into detail on each of the four cards he pulled. If you’re curious, you can listen to the show by clicking this link. My call was during the last ten minutes. The overall message was about falling in love with my life again. The way Radleigh described the meaning of each card and how they fit together obviously struck a chord because my eyes well up with tears. I’m so grateful to the angels for giving me that 444 nudge to overcome my fear so I wouldn’t miss this powerful message of confirmation.

Are you having a difficult time ignoring the voice of fear? It would be my great honor to assist you with a series of Spiritual Coaching Sessions or a private Family Constellations Session. Both can help you see things from a broader perspective so you can release old patterns and fear. For more information, please look around my website or send me an email to schedule a session.

This week, may you be open to nudges and messages that lead you to an abundance of miracles and blessings.

Angels light the way, so that all darkness vanishes, and you are standing in a light so bright and clear that you can understand all things you see.

Angels, Auras, and Ice Cream

Last weekend I was in Austin, Texas attending an event called “Angels & Auras” facilitated by two of my favorite Hay House authors, Radleigh Valentine and Dougall Fraser. What a dynamic duo! It was so interesting to see how many places Radleigh’s teachings on angels aligned with Dougall’s work with color. All through the event, they bounced ideas and jokes back and forth like they were playing a friendly game of badminton. When one of them led a meditation or a process, the other would silently hold space until it was complete. It was inspiring to watch these two friends speak from their hearts without any sense of competition or need to be right.

I loved when Radleigh invited us to let go of the concept of “right” and “wrong” during his answer to the very first question. A woman asked him how the various colors became associated with each archangel. He began with a very simple answer. Those colors were taught to him by his teacher and he liked them. He then told a story about sharing the stage with Diana Cooper, whom he described as the “Grande Dame of Angels” in Europe. Diana has been writing and teaching about angels for a long time. Not only does she associate different colors with the archangels, but she also talks about each one of them having a twin flame. Despite these basic differences, Radleigh pointed out that there was no need to make one right and one wrong. We each get to choose what feels right for us. If you feel connected to what he teaches, use that system. If you resonate more with Diana’s teachings, use those. Whichever system you use, the important thing is to remember to ask for angelic help.

In his book, Your Life in Color, Dougall uses an approach to color that veers away from the traditional seven chakra rainbow colors. That doesn’t mean one is wrong. It simply means color speaks to Dougall differently. If his approach resonates with you and you find it helpful, why not use it? There are over 7 billion people on this planet, each one looking for ways to experience more peace, love, and joy. Since each one of us is different, we need lots of different ways.

That’s why Baskin & Robbins has 31 flavors. Imagine visiting an ice cream parlor that only serves vanilla. That might be okay for some, but that wouldn’t work for everyone. Thank goodness for those little sample spoons that allow us to taste a variety of flavors before choosing one. I think spiritual practices are like that. The only way to know what works for you is to try some. At some point, you pick one you like and savor a whole scoop (or two!) My favorite flavor of spirituality is A Course in Miracles. Its gentle, consistent, authoritative, yet completely loving voice has given me more comfort than any other teaching.

On Saturday, a miraculous thing happened. Radleigh opened the “Angels and Auras” event by leading a guided meditation inviting 4 powerful archangels to stand in each of the 4 corners of the room. As he invoked the names and qualities of each one, I felt those familiar tingles all through my body. I have learned that those tingles happen when Spirit is trying to get my attention to let me know the energy of unconditional love is present. The tingles usually only last a few seconds, but that night they continued for the entire 15-minute meditation. It felt amazing! In fact, I’m getting those tingles again as I type these words. Thank you, Radleigh. Thank you, angels!

Earlier that morning, I completed another pass through the 365 Workbook Lessons in A Course in Miracles. I’m not sure how many times I’ve done the lessons since I started studying the Course, but each time I see something new. This time was no different, and the timing was perfect. The following morning I read the beautiful epilogue that closes the Workbook. Imagine the smile on my face when I read these last 3 sentences:

You do not walk alone. God’s angels hover near and all about. His Love surrounds you, and of this be sure; that I will never leave you comfortless.

I know these words are true for you too. If you are having trouble connecting with your angels or feeling the presence of unconditional love, I highly recommend the work of Radleigh Valentine and Dougall Fraser. Click their names to visit their websites where you can listen to free guided meditations and purchase their books and card decks. If you would like some one-on-one assistance, I would be honored to share with you some of the tools and techniques that have worked for me. I offer 4, 8, and 12-week Life Coaching Packages to suit your needs and budget. In our weekly 60-minute sessions, we will uncover what is preventing you from experiencing miracles! Sessions can be done in person, by phone, or via Skype and Zoom from anywhere in the world. Give yourself the gift of clear vision and a fresh start in 2020. Gift Certificates are available for all of my services. To show my gratitude to all of you who read my weekly stories, this year I’m jumping on the bandwagon and offering some major discounts on my Life Coaching packages for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Watch for that later this week. For more information or to book a session, please look around  my website or send me an email.

Until next time, keep sampling those flavors until you find the perfect one for you!

Frustration to Magic

It’s very easy to become frustrated with life’s little inconveniences until they turn into magic right before your eyes. I had that experience recently.

Several weeks ago I was with friends in a beautiful gift shop in Long Beach, California called Fern’s Garden. As we wandered through this magnificent garden filled with angels, wind chimes, and other eclectic gifts, I ran across a bin of tiny gold genie lamps. I couldn’t NOT get one for my dear friend and kindred spirit, Radleigh Valentine. Why? Radleigh’s most recent book with Hay House Publishing is titled, How to be Your Own Genie: Manifesting the Magical Life You Were Born to Live.

I love this book and I love Radleigh, so I thought it would be a silly but cute little gift to give him when I visited his city later that month. Well, the first frustration came when our schedules did not allow us to see each other that weekend. It was disappointing, but there was not much we could do about it. The little genie lamp came back home with me and I decided to mail it to him instead. With all the junk mail we receive these days, I thought he would enjoy receiving something fun from a friend.

When I got home I made a card, placed the little lamp inside, and sealed the envelope. Because it was bulky, I took it to the post office to ensure it had enough postage. I was surprised when the Houston postal worker only asked for 94 cents. Something told me it should have cost more than that, but who am I to argue with the man who works there?

It seemed odd that more than a week passed before I heard from Radleigh. Eventually, he sent me a text message asking if times were tough because he received something from me with postage due. I knew he was teasing, but I was not happy with that Houston postal worker for not collecting the right amount of money. Here I was trying to be thoughtful and instead, I added something to my busy friend’s to do list! To make matters worse, Radleigh was out of town at the time, so now this “thoughtful gift” may involve someone else having to make a trip to the post office. If that didn’t happen, there was a chance the gift would be sent back to me. Yes, I was frustrated.

Another week passed before Radleigh sent another text message with a photo of the incriminating letter and the caption, “Bail Posted.” I was glad he received my gift, but I was still frustrated that he had to make a special trip to the post office to pay the postage due. That frustration dissipated when he told me what happened that day.

Not surprisingly, there was a long line at the post office. When an elderly woman with mobility challenges joined the line behind him, Radleigh insisted she move in front of him. She tried to refuse, but Radleigh’s mother raised him to be a gentleman. He wasn’t taking no for an answer. That’s when something magical happened. Witnessing his kindness, every other person in line followed suit and the elderly woman went directly to the front of the line and was out of there in 3 minutes.

As soon as he shared this story, I knew that all of the frustration happened for a reason. Radleigh did too, which is one of the many reasons we are kindred spirits. He was definitely supposed to be in line at the post office at that exact moment to initiate that magical experience for everyone there. As if that weren’t magical enough, the postal worker who took care of him had seen what happened and told him he didn’t have to pay the postage due. Yes, sometimes frustration can turn into magic if we choose to see it that way.

Could you use some magic in your life? I highly encourage you to follow Radleigh Valentine on Facebook and Instagram or catch his show “Magical Things” on Hay House Radio every Thursday afternoon at 4 PM Central Time. If you or someone you love feels stuck, How to Be Your Own Genie might be just the book to help get the magic flowing again. Radleigh presents some tried and true tools in a fun and fresh way so you can start granting your own wishes! You can purchase this book on amazon.com or wherever you like to buy spiritual books. As always, if I can assist you with Life Coaching or Family Constellations, please look around my website or send me an email for more information.

Until next time, may you be open to the possibility that your frustrations could indeed turn into magic!

A miracle is never lost. It may touch many people you have not even met, and produce undreamed of changes in situations of which you are not even aware.

A Course in Miracles – T-1.I.45 (Miracle Principle 45)

A Healthy Dose of Nostalgia

The dictionary defines nostalgia as “a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.” One of those happy places for me is what some call the happiest place on earth…Disney World. My seven years in the Entertainment Department there were some of the most joyful times in my life. At the risk of sounding cliche, it truly was magical. Not only did I love being in the parades and shows, I met some wonderful people who remain dear friends today. Whenever I look at photos from that time in my life it makes me smile. Just the other day I was feeling a little tired during my morning cardio walk so I selected my Disney Parades and Shows playlist on iTunes. As soon as the first few notes of the SpectroMagic Parade trumpeted into my earbuds those familiar tingles and a surge of energy ran all through my body and off I went!

Thinking fondly of the past is not a bad thing in moderation. In excess, it can be just as much of a trap as regretting the past and wishing it were different. We’ve all heard people reminiscing about “the good ol’ days.” Yes, some of those days were really good, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have good new days. If you are constantly looking behind you at something that already happened, you will miss what’s right in front of you today. It would be like walking into a room backward and hoping not to bump into the furniture, or as my friend Radleigh Valentine says, driving your car while only looking in the rearview mirror. You obviously wouldn’t do either of those things because you could get seriously hurt. The same is true when we can’t release the past. By the way, helping people to release the past with love is one of the most powerful benefits of Family Constellations.

Despite my recurring dreams about performing in a Disney Parade again, I know that time in my life is done. As fun as it was, I feel like I did everything I wanted to do there, including dancing in the Main Street Electrical Parade when it returned in 1999. I am grateful for all the ways that job prepared me to do what I do now. I probably wouldn’t have the confidence to stand in front of 250 people in a conference room at the Big Sky Retreat had it not been for my seven years at Disney World. After thousands of parades as a performer and float driver, hundreds of shows as a puppeteer, and countless hugs from kids and kids at heart, my soul was calling me to do something else. My journey led to me from Central to South Florida where I went to massage school, started attending a Unity church, found A Course in Miracles, and eventually learned to facilitate Family Constellations. It has definitely been an E-ticket ride since I left Disney, and one I could not have imagined or planned. Had I not released what was, and trusted that more fun and magic were waiting for me in the future, I would not have the rewarding life I have today as a Life Coach and Family Constellations Facilitator.

So go ahead and look back once in a while for a healthy dose of nostalgia if it gives you a smile or a boost of energy. But don’t stay facing that direction. Your happiness isn’t back there. If you don’t turn around you might miss the beautiful opportunities and blessings that are before you.

“For in the holy instant, free of the past, you see that love is in you, and you have no need to look without…”

A Course in Miracles T-15.V.9

A Patch of Purple Flowers

Last week I wrote about my challenging travel day to New York City. Considering I also had delays due to weather in July when I flew to Virginia, I truly thought I had paid my dues for a while. Surely my luck would change and my trip home would be a breeze. Well, there were some breezes, but not the kind that got me home quickly.

After a weekend in New York, my partner and I took a bus to Pennsylvania to spend a few days with my family at Lake Wallenpaupack. We had a great time and managed not to injure ourselves too badly while being dragged around the lake on a knee board. When it was time to go home, I was not thrilled that we had to catch a bus before 9AM back to the city. That meant we either got to the airport very early or had to navigate the city with luggage before heading to La Guardia. Unfortunately the next bus at 2PM would not get us there in time to catch our evening flights home. I had been so focused on getting us to Pennsylvania that I hadn’t paid enough attention to the bus schedule for the return trip.

With no other options, my sister agreed to swing by our hotel and drop us off at the Sunoco station in downtown Hawley, PA about fifteen minutes before the bus was scheduled to arrive. After our goodbyes I decided to go inside the station to ask which side of the street the bus would be stopping. The nice woman behind the counter told me the bus stopped on this side of the street right by the little bench out front. As I was leaving she added, “You know the next bus isn’t until 2PM, right?”

I thought she was joking. It was no joke. I had failed to notice the 8:52AM bus into the city only ran on weekends and holidays. It was Thursday. Apparently this nice woman had made the same mistake, however this presented a little problem for us. How were we going to get to La Guardia in time for our flights? When I emerged from the gas station I sheepishly explained the situation to my partner. Ever the problem solver, he remained calm and immediately got on his iPhone to look into renting a car. He found one in minutes and happily exclaimed, “Well, now we don’t have to worry about getting to the airport from the bus station! We just need a ride to the rental car place.” The sister that just dropped us off had a full day of work so I contacted another sister who agreed to come rescue us.

While we waited for her to arrive I wondered what to do with our bus tickets. Should we try to get a refund? Should I give them to my sister who lives there? I couldn’t imagine her ever taking the bus to the city. The tickets expired in December. It was doubtful I would be back up there before then. That’s when I got a little nudge from Spirit to gift them to the nice lady behind the counter. She had saved us from waiting for a bus that would never come. She said she had taken the bus before so I knew she would use them. My partner agreed that this was the best solution, so I went back into the Sunoco station. At first she thought I was trying to sell them to her. When she realized I just wanted to give them to her she shrieked with excitement and reached over the counter to give me a big bear hug. That hug definitely shifted my energy from feeling bad about misreading the schedule to gratitude that my mistake was a blessing to someone else.

We had no problems driving into the city once the rental car company found and cleaned up a car for us. Luckily someone had just returned one because apparently their website allows people to rent cars even when they don’t have any to rent! Rather than risk more obstacles in the city, we decided to drive directly to the airport and see if we might possibly get an earlier flight. The thought of getting home early was very enticing. I believed with every fiber of my being that it was going to happen for both of us. After the horrible experience I had one week ago didn’t I deserve some good travel fortune?

Returning the car was easy, but getting to the terminal was a bit trickier. La Guardia is undergoing major construction so the shuttle could only take us so far. We had to get on another bus that took us to our terminal. It was about 12:30PM when we finally arrived at Terminal B. We went to our respective airlines to see what we could arrange. Due to the construction, signage is not great in that airport. When I finally found the JefBlue counter I was quite disappointed to learn that there were no seats available on any earlier flights. However, I was thankful that the ticketing agent was able to switch my center seat to an aisle seat in an exit row. That was something. Sadly, my gratitude vanished minutes later when I received a notification on my phone that my 7:30PM departure had been delayed until 9PM. Not again! I seriously considered going into the bathroom to cry. I was already exhausted and eight more hours in that airport seemed like more than I could endure.

There was nothing my problem solving partner could do to solve this problem. He didn’t have any better luck getting on an earlier flight, but his was scheduled to leave on time at 6:30PM. We had a nice lunch together at a restaurant in a newly remodeled section of the airport. Thank God for pizza. It never lets me down. After lunch we found a comfortable spot with cushioned chairs next to a phone charging station and a huge window overlooking the runway. This would be my home for the next six hours. Just like before, I knew I had to shift my thoughts or that six hours would feel like an eternity. I also knew that I had to allow myself to be frustrated and angry before I could move past those emotions. Being tired certainly did not help.

I tried not to be jealous when my partner left to go to his gate around 5 o’clock. However, for the first time that day timing was on my side. On Thursdays at 5PM EST my friend Radleigh Valentine does his show “Magical Things” on Hay House Radio. I don’t think I have ever been more grateful to have wifi and plenty of battery life. I knew hearing my friend help people shift from fear to love with his insights, wisdom, and silliness would help me to do the same. I was right! I felt so much better after listening and promptly sent him a message to thank him.

Of course nothing in my situation had really changed. My flight was still delayed and I was still stuck at the airport for at least 3 more hours. The only thing that changed was where I put my attention. But that’s all it takes to feel better. Suddenly I noticed a beautiful patch of purple flowers just outside the window where I was sitting. Next to a runway at a busy New York airport seemed like such an unlikely place for them to grow. I’m fairly confident those flowers did not grow while I was listening to “Magical Things.” They had been there all along, but because I was in such a foul mood, I hadn’t noticed them. Once my attitude changed I was able to see them. What a powerful reminder that beauty can be found everywhere if I have eyes to see it. That little patch of purple flowers was a miracle. They reminded me of one of Wayne Dyer’s most famous quotes:

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Continued thunderstorms in South Florida caused my flight to be delayed a few more times that evening. I used the time to catch up with friends via text message and also to practice the “Peace Begins with Me” mantra. I finally boarded the plane around 10PM and arrived safely in Fort Lauderdale close to 1AM. By the time I retrieved my luggage and used Uber to get home it was almost 2AM, about the same time I arrived at my hotel in New York City one week prior. I really hope I didn’t sign up for any more 2AM workshops on patience and acceptance! I think I got the lesson. A Course in Miracles says:

“Your passage through time and space is not at random. You cannot but be in the right place at the right time.”

Did I misread the bus schedule so the friendly woman at the Sunoco station would get a free trip to New York? Did I sit at that lounge in La Guardia Airport for six hours so I could learn to shift my thoughts until I was able to see those purple flowers? In addition to these questions, “Why is this happening?” popped up again. When it did I changed it as quickly as I could to a more powerful “what” question. What could I do differently in the future? It occurred to me that part of the reason I was so agitated by these delays was due to the fact that I had another busy weekend of commitments starting the very next day. Some were for work and some were for play, but now I see that I needed to give myself more down time. In the future I will be more mindful when planning my schedule. Perhaps it took these extreme experiences to get my attention to not do that again. Message received!

Are you having a difficult time seeing things from a different perspective? Life Coaching and Family Constellations are both excellent tools to help you do just that. It brings me great joy to help others live a more peaceful life by sharing the tools and techniques that have worked for me. Please look around my website for more information about these miraculous opportunities or send me an email with any questions you may have to John@PeaceThroughOneness.com.

Until next time, do your best to be mindful when planning your schedule and don’t forget to look for those purple flowers in unlikely places.

How Do I Let It Go?

One of the great things about being a Life Coach is the fact that I am constantly immersed in the teachings I share. When I pay attention, I can usually apply whatever I am talking about with my clients to something that is going on in my own life. You have probably heard it said that we teach what we need to learn. I believe that’s true. This week several of my clients asked for tips on how to let things go. After I finished singing the song from Disney’s Frozen, I suggested to each of them that they create a “God Box.” (I’m kidding, of course. I didn’t actually sing “Let it Go,” but I will admit the chorus ran through my head.)

A “God Box” is simply any container or box that you designate to be the place where you give the things that have been concerning you to God (or Spirit, or the Universe.) I have a beautiful wooden box with an OM symbol carved on it that my dear friend, Kristi, gifted me years ago. Whenever something is consistently trying to take away my peace, I write the situation down on a little slip of paper and place it in that wooden box. If a loved one is going through a challenging time, I write their name surrounded by hearts and angels and place it in the box. Any decision that I have been churning over and over in my mind goes in the box. If there is an expensive item I need but don’t know where the extra money will come from, I write it down and put it in the box. If a friend needs a new place to live or a wonderful job opportunity is on the horizon, I write it down as if it has already happened and place it in the box.

It might seem silly to some, but I believe rituals are a great way to give the unconscious mind the message that something is different now. The ritual of placing something in a God Box is a powerful way to connect the idea of letting go with a tangible, physical action. In short, it’s something “to do.” Whatever you were worried about is literally out of your hands and in the Hands of God.

After talking about it with so many of my clients, I realized I hadn’t visited my own God Box in quite a while. Today, I opened it up to see what was in there. It was wonderful to discover that many of the things that were in there have been resolved or have manifested, including the computer I am using to write this! That’s one of the fun benefits of this practice in addition to freeing up your mental energy. Some of the things in my God Box were no longer relevant as circumstances had changed for my loved ones. Those slips of paper needed to come out, and a few new ones needed to go in. My God Box got a breath of fresh air today, and I was able to say a prayer of gratitude over those slips of paper that came out.

By the way, you don’t have to call it a God Box. You can call it your prayer chest or wish box. The name is not important. What’s important is your intention to let those things go and stop thinking about them. Of course, you can always sing the song too!

If you could use some more personal assistance in letting things go, I would be honored to help you with Life Coaching or a private Family Constellations session. These sessions can be done in person, over the telephone, or via Skype. Please look around my website for more information or contact me with any questions you may have.

I leave you with this message that arrived on my iPhone as I was typing this week’s message. It’s from the Archangel Uriel app from Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine:

“Be at peace for everything is in God’s hands.”

Happy Different New Year!

So will the year begin in joy and freedom. There is much to do, and we have been long delayed. Accept the holy instant as this year is born, and take your place, so long left unfulfilled, in the Great Awakening. Make this year different by making it all the same. And let all your relationships be made holy for you. This is our will. Amen.  ACIM Text p. 329

I love this hopeful quote about beginning a new year from A Course in Miracles. It was right around New Year’s Day ten years ago that my friend Gwyneth gifted me her copy of a book titled Disappearance of the Universe on CD. I had no idea it was about A Course in Miracles, or that it would change the course of my life. The author, Gary Renard, was scheduled to speak at Unity on the Bay in Miami later that month, so in order to finish the audio book before the event, I listened to the CDs in my car between massage clients. What I heard blew me away. Through frank (and funny) conversations between Gary and his teachers, Arten and Pursah, the principles of the Course are explained in a linear and easy to understand way. This book answered more questions than anything else I had studied thus far. Not only did it make sense, but I felt the Truth of its words deep in my heart. After Gary’s workshop, I knew this path was for me, so I ordered my first copy of A Course in Miracles from The Foundation for Inner Peace. And so the year began in joy and freedom.

As New Year’s Eve approaches this year, I invite you to make this year different by making it all the same. No, that doesn’t mean have the same thing for dinner every night. I interpret that to mean do your best to choose peaceful and loving thoughts no matter what appears to be happening in your life. True, it’s not always easy, but it is possible. I can tell you from experience, with practice, it gets easier. 2016 has been a very peaceful and blessed year for me despite some very challenging situations in my career and personal life. By asking myself questions like, “What would love do or say in this situation?” and “What action feels peaceful?” I was able to navigate these challenges and not stay stuck in fear and hopelessness.

These questions also work well when unthinkable events happen in the world. The shooting at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando last summer hit very close to home for me. As I shared then, I lived in Orlando for eight years. I went dancing in clubs just like that one many times. Not so long ago, that could very easily have been me and my friends experiencing that horror. When I asked the questions mentioned above, I received specific guidance. I had the idea to facilitate a special Family Constellations workshop with all proceeds going to the families of those affected by the tragedy. A few months later, I was guided to help shift the energy at the actual site of the incident with my own rose quartz ceremony. These thoughts and actions brought me back to peace.

Here’s some great news. The more time you spend feeling peaceful and loving, the more those kinds of situations will appear in your life. In Miracle Principle number 43, the Course says, “Miracles arise from a miraculous state of mind, or a state of miracle-readiness.” I believe I was ready for some miracles in 2016. It was an honor to be asked to speak and facilitate workshops at Unity of Bon Air near Richmond, VA and at the Rio Grande Center for Spiritual Living in Albuquerque, NM. Three of those four talks went better than I imagined possible. One was a huge learning opportunity, and as uncomfortable as it was, I am grateful for that one too. This year I was able to share Family Constellations with people all over the globe thanks to Radleigh Valentine’s invitation to be a guest on his Hay House Radio show. The annual Big Sky Retreat in Montana was full of unexpected blessings again this year, including snowfall during one of my workshops! Miracle Monday at 1PM at Bridges of Wellness celebrated its one year anniversary this month. This well-attended group is full of love, and it continues to be ninety of my favorite minutes of the week.

Just to be clear, I’m not saying that once you become A Course in Miracles student, or start following one of the other great spiritual traditions, your life will be all unicorns and rainbows. As I mentioned earlier, unpleasant things are still going to happen. However, they won’t be able to rob you of your peace for very long. You can indeed let all your relationships be made holy for you. This year can be different by making it all the same. Just keep choosing peace and love. Then watch the miracles pile up!

Does that sound like an impossible task? I would be honored to share some of the tools and techniques that I have used over the past ten years to help you experience more miracles in your life. I offer four, six, and eight week Life Coaching packages to help you start the year off in joy and freedom. Please look around my website for more information.

Wishing you a very Happy and Different New Year full of miracles!

Joy & The Art of Allowing

I am constantly reminded that Life, God, the Universe, whatever you call it, has a sense of humor and joy is an essential ingredient of spirituality. This weekend I experienced a lot of joy while hosting my dear friend, Carrie Stiers, in my home. Carrie and I met at the Hay House “I Can Do It Conference” in Orlando last October. Some might call it a chance meeting, but I think our souls had a date with destiny. Spirit orchestrated the two of us to sit in the same row at the very last breakout session. As soon as we made eye contact during one of Denise Linn’s exercises, I felt a strong connection with her. After the event, we talked, hugged, and found each other on Instagram.  At first our only communication was through social media, but it eventually led to text messaging, phone conversations, and then her visit this weekend. What a weekend we had! We laughed, cried, shared stories and insights, and sang more than a few 70’s sitcom theme songs. I’m not sure which I’m more impressed with, her intuitive ability, or her ability to remember the words to all those songs!

One of the highlights of the weekend was the Facebook Live event Carrie and I co-hosted on Sunday. If you missed it, you can watch the replay pinned to the top of my Peace Through Oneness FaceBook page. When she asked me a few weeks ago to do it, I said “yes” without really knowing what I was saying “yes” to. Now I know that it is a live video that is shown on your Facebook page where people can watch and post comments and questions. We can see their posts as we are streaming, which allows us to interact and answer their questions. Carrie and I decided to talk about the Art of Allowing and how we don’t have to make or force anything to happen in our lives. We simply allow it. Well, at 2 pm we both hit “go live” on our iPhones. Her phone started showing the video. Mine was a black screen. That was not allowed!

I asked Carrie to keep talking and share something profound while I stepped away to open Facebook on my computer. I thought perhaps the video was streaming to my page even though it was not showing on my phone. Unfortunately, my computer wouldn’t connect to the Internet, so I had no way of knowing if the video was streaming. I decided to sit back down next to Carrie and surrender to the fact that it would only be shown live on her page. I felt peaceful about it, especially since earlier we had talked about sharing it on only one page to keep it simple. If that’s the way the Universe wanted it to happen, I would allow it. The funny thing is, as soon as I made the decision to allow it to be what it wanted to be, Carrie suggested I try one more time to open up Facebook on my phone. I closed the app and opened it again. The video immediately popped up on the screen and we were both LIVE! The irony of this was not lost on me. During the event we both shared many personal stories on how we have practiced the Art of Allowing. Apparently Spirit wanted to give me the opportunity to practice what I preach in real time! I do hope you will check it out. The feedback we have been receiving has been wonderful and encouraging. I know we will be doing more Facebook Live events together.

Are you having a hard time allowing what you desire to come to you? Are you still chasing relationships, jobs, or money, wondering why they stay just out of reach? Please contact Carrie or me to get some assistance in the Art of Allowing. We both offer Life Coaching to help you let in more of what you want and less of what you don’t want. Carrie is an incredible intuitive counselor and psychic medium. Over the weekend she shared some great insights and asked some laser beam questions that helped give me clarity and direction. Her website is under construction, but you can contact Carrie for a reading or coaching by clicking these links on Facebook or Instagram to send her a message. Don’t forget to “like” and “follow” her while you are there. She shares great inspirational quotes and card readings on a daily basis.
