Love, Friendship, & Magical Burritos

Last weekend I had the honor of officiating a wedding ceremony for two dear friends in Fort Lauderdale. I’ll be honest. Officiating weddings is not my favorite thing because it is such an important day for the couple and their friends and family. I feel a little pressure to deliver an experience that will resonate with everyone in attendance.

This one, however, was different. I knew many of the faces that were staring at us under the arch of flowers. I felt so much love present at this gathering that there was absolutely no room for fear. So many of my Fort Lauderdale friends came together to make this event spectacular because Adrian and Jeff are so beloved in our spiritual community. Over the years, they have hosted numerous game nights and gatherings in their beautiful home. Anyone who has had the privilege to be invited into their space knows it’s a joy to bask in their love for each other and in the love they infuse into their home.

As you can imagine, an event like this upped the love factor exponentially. With the help of friends and family, their backyard was transformed into a tropical oasis with flowers and lights. I took the liberty of sprinkling tiny rose quartz crystals all around the perimeter of their backyard to radiate the love we shared out to the World through the rose quartz grid. Because most of the guests in attendance were as “woo woo” as us, I felt free to share that bit of information during the ceremony. I doubt there was a dry eye in the house after they exchanged spontaneous, heartfelt vows. We then paused for a moment of silence to allow the guests the opportunity to send loving intentions to the grooms. All 3 of us felt waves of loving energy coming towards us. It was powerful!

Yes, there’s the legality of becoming a married couple, but to me, weddings are really a Celebration of Love: the love the couple has for each other and the love all those who gather have for them. It’s also the recognition of the Divine Love that connects us all. Not only was their backyard transformed for the ceremony, but their neighbors offered their yard and pool area for the reception. Witnessing so many people come together from near and far to play a role in making the day special for Adrian and Jeff was truly a testament to the joining power of Love. I wouldn’t have missed this event for anything.

It was an added bonus to spend the weekend among friends I have known for 10 or more years. We talked about every topic under the sun, caught up on each other’s lives, and laughed about our many adventures together. All this gave my heart a huge infusion of love. Meanwhile, my stomach was grateful for not one but two visits to my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in Fort Lauderdale that I affectionately call “The Magical Burrito Place.” I have many fond memories of meals with friends there as well as solo moments where I experienced more miracles than I can count. If you’re curious, the actual name of the restaurant is “The Whole Enchilada.” I highly recommend a visit if you find yourself in Fort Lauderdale.

Pardon the pun, but I guess you could say I received “the whole enchilada” last weekend. Love, friendship, and magical burritos were nourishment for my soul. My holiday wish is that you also receive the whole enchilada. Wherever you go and whatever you do, I envision you immersed in so much love and light that there is no room for fear and darkness.

I know the holidays can be a time of sadness for many people. If I can assist you in opening your heart to receive more peace, love, and joy, please reach out for a Spiritual Coaching Session or join us for our weekly online A Course in Miracles study group every Tuesday evening at 7 PM Eastern. Until next time, may the Light of the Holiday season illuminate your heart for the rest of this year, into the New Year, and beyond.

The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.

A Course in Miracles ~

We Remember

As we honor the anniversary of the tragic events that happened on September 11 twenty years ago, I invite you to take a moment to remember and hold in your heart all those who lost their lives that day as well as those who lost loved ones or were impacted in any way. Of course, that’s all of us since we are one human family. The way we live was forever changed that day. I also invite you to join me in sending heart energy to that geographic location and let the ripples of love extend outward to comfort everyone on the planet and help clear any residual fear.

Many of you know one of the rituals I practice to assist in shifting fear to love is planting rose quartz crystals at such locations. Rose quartz is said to hold the frequency of unconditional love and compassion, so this practice is a symbolic way to add love wherever I go. It helps my mind connect to something tangible to let me know that something is different. If this ritual speaks to you, please feel free to adopt or adapt it as your own.

In 2008, I was in New York City around the time of the 7th anniversary of 9/11. On that day, I felt compelled to walk the perimeter of the construction site where the towers fell to scatter tiny rose quartz crystals. Thankfully, a new friend asked if she could join me on this sacred walk. It was both sacred and somber. As we walked, we both felt the energy of fear and grief lingering in the air. Our intention was to add love by placing the little pink stones around the site. When we completed the circle, we decided to find the source of the two commemorative spotlights shining up into the sky representing each of the fallen towers. When we arrived, we discovered that we each had just one stone left. It felt right to place one under each spotlight to send that loving energy out into the Universe.

A Course in Miracles describes a miracle as a shift in our minds from fear to love. A miracle is not dependent on changing anything in the outer world. True, we cannot change what happened on that day, but we can use those devastating events as a catalyst to remember the importance of extending love to one another and to remember we are not separate. What affects one of us affects all of us. May we reawaken to this truth so acts of violence become a distant memory.

Love extends outward simply because it cannot be contained. Being limitless it does not stop.

Gold Star for Surrender

Many of you know I like to scatter tiny rose quartz crystals in lakes, streams, and flower beds as a way to infuse a location with the frequency of unconditional love and compassion. It’s a fun ritual I learned from one of my very first spiritual teachers back in 2004 and I have been doing it ever since. Not long after I started this practice, my teacher and I were in a beautiful spot by a stream having a deep conversation when it occurred to me that I did not have any rose quartz stones with me. My teacher agreed it would have been nice to drop a few in the stream, but he reminded me that we didn’t need little pink stones to make it a sacred spot. Just our being there and having that moment made it sacred. I never forgot that lesson.

Last month, while I was taking one of my last walks in Hermann Park, I decided to toss a few rose quartz crystals around the path as a way to thank the park for being such a blessing during my time in Houston. I only had a handful left so I was being very intentional with where I placed them. Some went on either side of the path where I usually started my walk. A few went under a favorite prayer bench. The lake received a few as well as the spot where I almost walked in front of the train had it not been for a family on the other side of the train tracks! I saved the last piece for my favorite spot under a tree where I did my cool-down stretches and Donna Eden’s 5-Minute Daily Energy Medicine Routine

As I neared the end of my route, I took the last tiny pink stone out of my pocket ready to place it in what I considered the perfect place. Suddenly my hand bumped my thigh and the stone flew out from between my fingers. I couldn’t believe it! I was so close to my destination! I scanned the sidewalk for a minute but was not able to see where it landed. The crystals I use are pale pink and smaller than popcorn kernels so they are not always easy to spot. I could have spent a lot of time looking for it, but instead, I decided to surrender to what happened and trust that the crystal was supposed to be wherever it landed. Although I was disappointed, I remembered what my teacher said about not needing rose quartz to make a spot sacred. My healing experiences under that tree had already done that.

When I arrived under the tree and bent over to stretch my back and quads, something shiny on the ground caught my eye. Right there on that very spot a gold star was sparkling in the sun. I’m pretty sure I laughed out loud when I saw it. It was a great reminder that I didn’t have to do anything to mark that spot as sacred. The Universe via some graduate celebrating with confetti and a photo op took care of that for me. And, by letting go of my attachment to what I thought was “supposed” to happen, I believe the Universe gave me a gold star in this lesson on surrender. I trust I will remember this experience the next time I find myself attached to a particular outcome, especially one that seems to have more significance. If I surrender to what wants to happen instead of insisting I know what should happen, perhaps I’ll earn another gold star! Of course, the only gold star worth earning is Inner Peace.

Are you having a hard time letting go of your attachment to a particular outcome? I would be honored to help you earn a gold star in surrender with a series of Life Coaching sessions or a private Family Constellations session. Both can help you expand your capacity to see things from a different perspective allowing you to let go and trust the process. Please look around my website for more information about both or send me an email to book a session.

Until next time, may you earn a gold star in all of life’s lessons whether they be large or small.

If you realized that you do not perceive your own best interests, you could be taught what they are. But in the presence of your conviction that you do know what they are, you cannot learn. The idea for today is a step toward opening your mind so that learning can begin.

A Course in Miracles – W-24.2:1-3

I just returned from a wonderful retreat at Unity Village in Missouri. During one of the sessions, one of the attendees broke down the word “retreat” in a way that really spoke to me. Re-Treat! It’s a treat I have given myself over and over. It didn’t occur to me how true this was until the weekend was almost over. So many of the life-changing experiences I shared last weekend happened at retreats like that one. The more I thought about it, I realized I’ve met many of my closest friends, not to mention my amazing partner, at a spiritual retreat!

It began when I met my rose quartz family at my first spiritual gathering over Valentine’s Day weekend in 2004. I had been praying to find a group of people that felt like my tribe. The friends I made that weekend were the answer to that prayer. I was in awe of the work they were doing in the world and how much I could learn from them. They taught me about crystals and how rose quartz holds the frequency of unconditional love and compassion. We did ceremony inside a Native American Medicine Wheel and I learned about Animal Totems. They introduced me to the music of Deva Premal, Sanskrit chanting, and Hindu deities. That was also the weekend I had a mystical experience that told me my presence helps others on their path of healing and wholeness. That weekend was a game changer. It gave me hope, a renewed sense of purpose, and planted seeds in my consciousness that continue to grow and influence my life today.

In 2010, for some reason I felt inspired to attend a retreat in Mebane, North Carolina facilitated by someone I just met at a Miami Meetup group. When I discovered that Mebane was just 20 minutes from the home of a member of my rose quartz family, I knew I was meant to go and I’m so glad I did! It was a magical 5 days that taught me the power of letting go and going with the flow. That’s also where I met, Haydee, who I affectionally call my “HDL” which stands for “Hermana de Luz” or “Sister of Light” in English. It sounds hokey, but I believe our souls recognized each other from the moment we met and our friendship and love for each other has only grown deeper over time. I find it interesting that Haydee and I both lived in South Florida, but we had to travel 800 miles north to meet each other at a spiritual retreat in the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains.

Over the next few years, I attended a beautiful, heart-centered event called The Universal Lightworkers Conference held every year in Fort Lauderdale. That’s where I was introduced to powerful spiritual teachers like Mary Morrissey, Dr. Joan Borysenko, Donna Eden, and Sheila & Marcus Gillette. I was so impressed with Mary Morrissey’s presentation at that conference that when I saw her picture years later on the flyer for the 2014 Big Sky Retreat I decided to go. Little did I know how much that decision would impact my life.

Due to some last minute scheduling changes and my friendship with Dr. Charles Geddes who has been part of the Big Sky Retreat since it began in 1976, I ended up presenting a workshop on Forgiveness and Miracles that first year. Words can’t describe how welcomed, loved, and seen I felt. Many of the people I met that year have become life-long friends and prayer partners. In addition, I made connections that allowed me to travel and share the work I love all over the country. I have attended this event every year since, and every year I meet wonderful people and expand well past my comfort zone in miraculous ways.

I never would have guessed that one day I would be President of the Board of the Big Sky Retreat, which is the longest-running metaphysical retreat in the world. It was a full circle moment for me during the opening ceremony at last year’s retreat when I shared what I have learned about rose quartz and the Native American Medicine Wheel. It brought tears to my eyes to see a group of 150 people honoring the four directions and then have their own heart-expanding experience holding a piece of rose quartz. What an honor to pay it forward. This is just a small sample of the life-changing experiences I’ve had and the beautiful souls I’ve met at spiritual retreats over the years. I am beyond grateful for each and every one.

Are you looking for your tribe? Would you like to take a break from your everyday life in a magnificent setting? Is your soul calling out for a re-treat? If so, I invite you to join me for one or both of the upcoming spiritual retreats I am blessed to be a part of this fall. The 44th Annual Big Sky Retreat will be held near Yellowstone National Park in Big Sky, Montana over Labor Day Weekend from August 31-September 5. Early registration price ends on June 30. The 2019 Affiliated New Thought Network Conference will be held on the sacred grounds at Unity Village from October 1-4. Take a look at the events on my website and give yourself the gift that keeps on giving. Register today!

If not these events, I encourage you to take a break from your normal routine even if it’s just for an afternoon or evening. Get out in nature, attend a spiritual event, or spend some time reading a metaphysical book at your local coffee shop. You never know who you’ll meet or what life-changing experience is waiting for you!

Into the Mystic

While enjoying some welcomed downtime in Florida last week, I was thinking about another special Valentine’s Day week fifteen years ago. That’s when I attended my very first spiritual gathering near St. Petersburg, Florida. The event was centered around a mysterious, ancient crystal skull named Max who ironically is based here in Houston. I had no idea why, but when I heard the story of Max, I knew I was supposed to be at that gathering. I’m so glad I ventured past my comfort zone and listened to that inner knowing because that weekend was full of blessings that opened me up to a whole new world of possibilities.

I met some of my first spiritual teachers at that gathering in 2004. Not only did I learn about Max, but I also learned about the Native American Medicine Wheel, Animal Totems, Hindu Deities, and Sanskrit Chants, all of which are still part of my spiritual practice today. During a mystical experience with Max, I received the message that my presence helps others on their path of healing and wholeness. At the time I was a massage therapist and that message resonated with me deeply. That message still resonates with me as a Life Coach and Family Constellations Facilitator, and I have adopted it as my personal mission statement.

It was at that same gathering where I met an amazing group of people that I call my Rose Quartz Family. These new friends taught me that rose quartz holds the frequency of unconditional love and compassion. I also learned that they had been planting those tiny pink stones all over the globe for years to create a web of love and peace around the planet. Fifteen years later, I’m still giving away rose quartz stones as gifts, I sprinkle them wherever I go, and I have incorporated them into the opening ceremony of the Big Sky Retreat.

Speaking of the Big Sky Retreat, that was another spiritual gathering that I knew I was supposed to attend when I first heard about it. What I didn’t know was how many blessings would come from that decision. Like that first spiritual gathering in Florida, I met a wonderful group of people that have become like family. The heart connections I have made with people from all over the country have given me numerous opportunities to travel and share the work I love called Family Constellations. I also happened to meet my partner at the Big Sky Retreat, so one could definitely say the retreat continues to bless my life.

Is there a gathering or event that your heart is telling you to attend? Whatever or wherever the call, it may not make sense to you why you feel you should be there. You may feel like you don’t have the resources or the time to go. I strongly encourage you to drop those limiting beliefs, stop trying to figure it out, and set your intention to be there. Let Spirit handle the details. That’s what happened to me both times I said yes to that inner knowing. Somehow Spirit found a way to get me there. I am convinced it was part of some divinely orchestrated plan that I said yes to long ago. If you are feeling the pull, GO! Untold blessings are waiting for you!
If that inner knowing is telling you to be at the 44th Annual Big Sky Retreat in Montana this Labor Day Weekend, I encourage you to visit and register today. If you are supposed to be there, the way will be revealed. Once you say yes, be prepared for love, expansion, and miracles to happen! I look forward to seeing you there and together we can take a journey “Into the Mystic…”

Your passage through time and space is not at random. You cannot but be in the right place at the right time. ~ A Course in Miracles – Workbook Lesson 42

Celebrating a Great Dreamer

Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901. I was so happy to have been in Florida at Disney World on December 5 this year to celebrate his birthday. To honor him, I planted a few of my signature rose quartz crystals in the flower beds around the “Partners” statue in the Magic Kingdom. That’s the statue in front of Cinderella’s Castle where Walt is holding Mickey Mouse’s hand. I joined the long line of people waiting to get a photo in that iconic spot wondering how many of them knew it was Walt’s birthday.

When I approached the statue I tossed the rose quartz into the surrounding poinsettias and said a prayer of gratitude to this man for all the joy he has given to the world and to me personally. Walt was a visionary and a master storyteller. He opened people’s hearts with his stories and beloved characters while weaving in lessons of courage, hope, inclusion, and love. Those same lessons are present in the attractions and shows at Disney Theme Parks around the world.

Speaking of theme parks, the 7 years I worked in the Entertainment Department at Disney World were some of the most joyful of my life. I cherish the memories and friendships I made during that time and I consider it a unique gift and privilege to have been part of the magic.

Whether you are a fan of his movies and theme parks or not, you can’t deny the impact this man had on the world. If you know his story, you also know before the success of Mickey Mouse and Disneyland, Walt had more than his fair share of hard times and failures. Despite those early setbacks, he held to his vision and assembled a team that not only believed in his vision but also in him. His remarkable charisma, strong vision, and unsinkable tenacity helped him create a legacy that is still creating magic and joy 52 years after his death.

So whatever it is that you’re dreaming of, I encourage you to follow Walt’s example. Get a clear vision of what you want and how it can benefit others. Assemble a team of “partners” that share your vision and can help you bring it to life. And whatever you do, don’t give up if things don’t work out right away. Keep dreaming! As Disney’s Cinderella sings to her animal friends, “No matter how your heart is grieving. If you keep on believing. The dream that you wish will come true.”

With Love and Disney Magic,

P.S. If you’re looking for a teammate and accountability partner who believes in you, it would be my great honor to give you the support and tools you need to make lasting change. Make this year different. Give yourself the gift of a 3, 6, or 12 month series of Life Coaching sessions to help you move through a particularly difficult time and closer to the life of your dreams. All of my sessions are based on the strong principles found in A Course in Miracles and other New Thought Teachings. Look around my website or send me an email for more information and to schedule a session.

What Would You Have Me Say?

Anyone who uses words for a living like I do, whether written or spoken, knows that they are very powerful things. They have the power to both inspire and injure, so I do my best to choose them carefully. However, even when being mindful, one never knows how they will be received or what impact they will have. The best I can do is set my intention to be only helpful and trust that whatever comes through me is exactly what is needed in the moment. I learned this lesson at my first Big Sky Retreat in 2014 and again at this year’s retreat.

The Big Sky Retreat is an empowering five-day event held every year for the past 43 years over Labor Day Weekend. I presented my first workshop on “Miracles and Forgiveness” at the 2014 Retreat on the last day of August. I hadn’t planned on sharing that I like to celebrate my birthday not just on August 5 but for the entire month of August. It just sort of came out when I began speaking. I told everyone how grateful I was to have started my “birthday month” playing at Disney World with great friends and now I was ending the month sharing something I love with all of them. It wasn’t until later that I discovered the impact of that little piece of information.

A woman who attended my workshop came up to me later that day to tell me what a gift I had given her. I assumed it was something I shared about my journey of forgiveness with my mother but it wasn’t. This woman told me that her birthday is September 11 and that her brother was a first responder in New York City on that horrible day in 2001. He inhaled too much smoke while rescuing people from the towers and eventually died a few days later. From that year forward, she felt it was inappropriate to celebrate her birthday. How could she have a “happy birthday” on a day that brought her and many others so much sadness? My suggestion to celebrate the entire month gave her permission to celebrate on the other days in September. I could see the relief and excitement on her face as she told me she was looking forward to having a happy birthday after 13 years of sad ones. I couldn’t wait to give her a greeting card the next day saying “Happy First Day of your Birthday Month!”

Something similar happened this year during the closing ceremony. We gave every attendee a rose quartz heart to take home with them as a reminder of all the love, joy, and healing we experienced during our 5 days together. For my closing prayer, I wanted to mention a whole list of places I have planted small rose quartz crystals with the intention of spreading love and peace across the planet. It’s a sweet little ritual I learned at my first spiritual gathering back in 2004, and I have been doing it ever since.

Of course, it wasn’t practical or possible to mention every place I have planted those tiny pink stones over the past 14 years, but I was very disappointed in myself for not mentioning the ones in Virginia at Serenity Farm and in the angel garden at Unity of Bon Air. I also forgot to mention the ones at the Satya Center in Utah and the ones in the Pyramid and the fountains at Unity of Houston. I had to trust that the locations and stories I did mention were the ones that needed to be shared.

I received confirmation of this the following morning after our farewell breakfast. I ran into a wonderful group of women from Utah who told me how healing it was to hear that I had planted rose quartz in and around Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Temple Square is the headquarters for the LDS Church. Although each of these women has left that tradition, they shared how powerful it was to have a way to connect to their Mormon heritage through the rose quartz energy of love and compassion.

Yes, words are very powerful indeed. When I surrender and trust that what needs to be shared will be shared and I let go of my ego’s need to judge and control every little detail, miracles happen! In order to keep my ego at bay, every day before I get out of bed I ask the Universe these inspiring and empowering questions from Lesson 71 in A Course in Miracles:

What would You have me do? Where would You have me go? What would You have me say, and to whom?

Try them for yourself and watch what happens. I know they have opened me up to receive more miracles than I can count.

Wishing you an inspired and empowered week!

When Two Worlds Meet

It’s amazing what can happen when we look for things we have in common rather than ways we are different. As I shared a few weeks ago, I’m not much of a sports fan, but I found myself at another baseball game at Yankee Stadium this week. It was the Yankees vs. the Astros, but I was not invested in any particular outcome other than having a good time with my family. Before the game, my sister’s husband took us down to an area behind center field called Monument Park. Although I did not know most of the players that were honored with plaques, I could feel the respect that was given to them. As anyone who has attended one of my Family Constellations sessions knows, it is very important to honor those who came before. In addition to the retired ballplayers, there were also plaques honoring Nelson Mandela, a visit by Pope John Paul II in 1979 where he offered a mass for world justice and peace, and a tribute to the victims and rescue workers of 9/11. It was a beautiful way to honor the history of the team and the stadium. I was grateful for the opportunity to pay my respects to all of them with my trademark tiny rose quartz crystals. Two worlds intersected with love and respect.

This experience reminded me of a similar one that happened ten years ago while I was staying with a friend on Long Island. My friend was an Interfaith Minister, and when two Mormon missionaries showed up at her door a few days before my arrival, she invited them to come back for lunch. She felt compassion for these teenage boys who were so far from home and most likely longing for a home-cooked meal. And, knowing our diverse spiritual backgrounds, she thought the four of us would have an interesting conversation. She was right! When they first arrived, we exchanged pleasantries and then they jumped right into the Book of Mormon to share their beliefs. At the time, I had only been studying A Course in Miracles for about a year and a half so I was quite eager to bring out my copy and share my beliefs with them. As you can imagine, the conversation became awkward and uncomfortable very quickly.

Luckily, lunch was ready soon. We adjourned to the dining room where we all sat down to have a nice bowl of chicken soup. Before we ate, my friend spoke a beautiful blessing over our food and our time together. Her invocation of the power of love shifted something. We started talking about the things we had in common, where our beliefs intersected, and how good the chicken soup was! Miraculously, any tension from the previous conversation dissipated, and the four of us enjoyed a wonderful lunch. I will never forget that powerful lesson. When we try to convince someone that our beliefs are correct, things will inevitably get tense. But when we share from the heart instead of the head, love connects us all.

Many say that we should never talk about religion or politics with those who disagree with us. However, in these divisive times, we probably need to talk about them more, but with an open heart and an open mind. As my friend Mary Morrissey says, waiting for someone else to stop talking so you can talk is not the same thing as listening. We learn much more by listening than talking. If we can agree to disagree without the need to be right, we might just experience a miracle. As one of my favorite quotes from A Course in Miracles so simply states:

Do you prefer that you be right or happy?

Are you having a challenging time with someone who insists that you’re doing it wrong? I would be honored to help you find harmony in that or any situation that is trying to take away your peace. Life Coaching and Family Constellations are both powerful tools that can relieve stress, repair relationships, and foster better health and abundance. Simply send me an email or look around my website for more information and to book a session.

Until next time, if you’d like to experience more love, peace, and harmony, I invite you to be more vigilant for ways we are alike than different. The results will be miraculous!

A Match Made in Heaven

Last week I had the honor and joy of witnessing my dear friend Melinda get married. The funny thing is, she already had a husband. No, Melinda isn’t a polygamist. The marriage I witnessed was actually the coming together of the right minister and the right church. I met Rev. Melinda Wood Allen last June in San Antonio, Texas at the Unity Worldwide Ministries Conference. We hit it off immediately. Not only did I learn that she is an amazing singer/songwriter, but at the time she was looking for the right spiritual community to continue her calling as a minister.

I saw her again earlier this year at the emPower Posi Music Awards in Tampa, Florida. Her song “Ancestors” was nominated for an award. We had a wonderful conversation in the hotel lobby after the awards show. We laughed and caught up with each other’s lives until almost 1 in the morning. That’s when she shared this profound teaching and prayer with me. Having had a few disappointments over the past few months in her “church search,” she was doing her best to stay centered and peaceful as she waited for an answer from a center where she had recently spoken. Instead of praying that she would get the job, she was simply holding the vision that this center would find the perfect minister and that she would find the perfect church. What a beautiful prayer of surrender and trust. How often do we pray for a specific outcome when, from our limited perspective, how could we possibly know what is the highest good for all?

That prayer really stuck with me. In fact, I shared it with one of my Life Coaching clients the very next day. Instead of praying for God to fix his relationship, I offered that we hold the vision together that both he and his partner find the perfect match. If it’s each other, great. If it’s not, everyone still wins! By the way, this visioning prayer will also work for business opportunities, jobs, and places to live. Instead of trying to figure out what’s best or impose our will, why not pray for the perfect match? Then we can relax and let the Universe orchestrate all the details while we do only the action steps that are ours to do. If it’s a romantic or business partner that you’re looking for, I offer these powerful and comforting words from A Course in Miracles:

There are no accidents in salvation. Those who are to meet will meet, because together they have the potential for a holy relationship. They are ready for each other.

Needless to say, Melinda got the job. Everyone who spoke at the ceremony last Friday said the same thing. It literally was “a match made in Heaven.” Melinda is the perfect, heart-centered minister for the Cathedral of Light in Dallas and the Cathedral of Light is the perfect, heart-centered spiritual community for Melinda. I felt the same immediate connection with the church that I felt with Melinda. As soon as I arrived at the church I noticed the words “Teaching Only Love” written on the outside wall. That felt like a nod to a famous quote from A Course in Miracles: “Teach only love for that is what you are.” It turns out the founding minister of the Cathedral of Light is a long-time student of the Course. I later found out from a congregant that she also loves angels, which is evident by the many paintings and sculptures of angels throughout the building.

Of course, I sprinkled some rose quartz crystals on either side of the entrance to the church to bless everyone who entered with the energy of unconditional love and compassion. Imagine my surprise when I walked into the sanctuary for the first time and saw a row of pink stained glass windows on either side. The sanctuary was bathed in soft pink light, just like I had envisioned when I planted those little pink stones. It was absolutely beautiful and full of love, just like the ceremony and all the wonderful people I met that evening. Everything just felt right. I could not be happier for my friend Melinda or for the Cathedral of Light. In my humble opinion, it is both a match made in Heaven and a holy relationship.

Are you looking for a partner, a career change, or a new place to live? I would be honored to hold the vision of a match made in Heaven and give you tools to help you become a match for what you desire. Please look around my website to learn about the different Life Coaching packages available to assist you. You might also try a Family Constellations session to uncover any hidden blocks that prevent you from the happy, healthy, prosperous life you were meant to live. Until next time, together let’s hold the highest vision for the world that we all become a match made in Heaven.

Skyway to Heaven

I had a wonderful time at the Empower Music Posi Awards last Sunday evening in Tampa, FL. What a blessing to meet musicians from all over the country who write and sing songs with a positive message. The awards show was actually more like a concert. Each nominee performed their song before the winner was announced. I was grateful to be there soaking up the loving energy and positive vibes created by those committed to using their gifts and talents as a force for good in the world.

My heart was wide open as I drove home to Fort Lauderdale on Monday. I headed south on Interstate 275 crossing a huge bridge known as the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. This beautiful piece of architecture connects the gorgeous beach city of St. Petersburg to Terra Ceia Island. Because the bridge makes an arc high above the waters of Tampa Bay, as I approached it the road appeared to take off into the sky and never come down. I was not able to see the other side. In fact, the only things visible were the road in front of me and the towering steel cables supporting the bridge in the center. It caught me by surprise when a little wave of fear passed through me at this sight.

At that moment it occurred to me what a beautiful metaphor for life this was, especially now that I am about to embark on a new chapter of my life. We never get to know exactly what’s on the other side of the bridge waiting for us in the future, and that’s okay. We simply have to focus on the road in front of us and trust that if we keep going and stay on the road, it will take us someplace magical. This moment felt like such a profound message from Spirit that I had to grab my phone to capture a photo. I know. My guardian angels work overtime to keep me safe. When you see the photo you’ll notice there were no cars in my immediate vicinity, but the sunlight beaming down through my windshield let me know I was protected.

This message had a double meaning for me because Terra Ceia (which I have been told translates to “Heaven on Earth” in English) is where I attended my first Native American Ceremony over Valentine’s Day Weekend in 2004. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I said yes to that invitation, but something in me knew I was supposed to be there. That weekend I learned about Animal Totems, the Native American Medicine Wheel, and how to honor the Four Directions. It’s also where I met my Rose Quartz Family and began the ritual of placing tiny rose quartz crystals everywhere I go to create a web of love and peace around the planet. Needless to say, this spot on Planet Earth feels magical to me and will always have a special place in my heart.

Even though I hadn’t been back to that island in over ten years, I found myself being guided right back to the house where my teacher used to live. For those who know my sense of direction or lack thereof, this was a miracle in itself! I felt so grateful to be back on the land that gave me so much learning and healing. I parked my car as inconspicuously as I could behind some trees at the edge of the property so I wouldn’t alarm the new owners if they happened to be home. I rolled down my windows, tossed some rose quartz into the trees next to my car, and then just sat there in silence for a few moments. The peaceful energy was just as I remembered it. What a full circle moment to be able to honor where my spiritual journey kicked into high gear fourteen years ago (two cycles of seven) almost to the day. I wonder where this next sacred cycle of seven years will take me? The good news is, I don’t have to know that now. I just have to keep focusing on the road in front of me and trust that I will be able to create magic and miracles wherever I am.
